DJ Choko

Jose D. Ventura aka. DJ CHOKO VENTURA was born June 23, 1983. in the Dominican Republic in the province Santiago de los Caballeros. At the age of thirteen Jose moved from the Dominican Republic and lived Brooklyn, New York where he lived until the year 2000. In the year 2000 Jose graduated from Norman Thomas high school and right after moved to Washington Heights where he currently lives today. Jose’s passion and love for music happen at a very young age. Jose grew up listening to the music his mother and father enjoyed in the 80’s and 90’s. Later Jose learned about the other genre and self taught him self the different forms and techniques of music.

Jose aka DJ Choko has built a solid background by showing great enthusiasm in what he loves to do. As a devoted collector of many styles of music he acquired a skill as a professional disc Jockey. What makes DJ Choko different is his ability to satisfy all types of crowds he can blow up the dance floor mixing old jams with new songs. Music has always been a central part of DJ Choko life. The name DJ Choko was born around the year 2000, his friends began calling him Aventura or Chokolate and later the name DJ Choko was hard to change and that is how people know him today. He began playing in house parties than local bars at the beginning of 2009. Now DJ Choko Ventura is playing in night clubs, weddings and other private events. DJ Choko has also traveled to cities like Miami, New Orleans, and Dominican Republic and wants to explore other cities. His love for music has lead DJ Choko to his life’s passion and he plans to put together a few other projects in the music industry.
